Transport, roads and railways of Liddesdale

Over the next few weeks I hope to add information to this page about the history and development of the road network in Liddesdale, specifically the Carlisle to Berwick post road, the turnpike and statute labour roads that were constructed in the 1790s and the early years of the 19th century, plus information about a few road schemes that came to naught.
